Yeah, my begetter (who shares this premium GiantBomb account with me) went pretty over board in the late 90's and bought pretty much all the beanie babies that went to mass marketplace dorsum then. How much are these "collector items" worth now? He also has a shitload of laser disks and a baseball that he had personally autographed by the entire 1963 earth series NY Yankees team (including Mickey Mantle) when he was 15. Even so, we are probably not willing to sell those anyway.
Ps: @Vinny It hurts my fathers feelings when he can't go down far enough to discover his year of birth on historic period gated videos.
Not much. No one cares near them anymore.
@Metal_Mills: Really? That sounds plausible being that he put in over $x,000 ownership them and they are pretty cute...
Yeah, I'd hold on to 'em for forty-eighty more years. At the moment, they're probably worth three-half-dozen m, but I can easily imagine a "retro" resurgence causing them to drastically gain value.
I'll give y'all a dollar for the cutest one.
I'd definitely concord on to them for a few more decades before selling them.
I'd tell him to hold onto them. I don't see them having much value since they're not that old and like you said, mass marketed. I highly uncertainty he'd get his money back he paid for them right now. Perchance in 20-xxx years they could be worth selling.
Same every bit your father's worth for buying them. Nothing.
This merely made me spend way also long looking at Beanie Babe values. And plain there are "experts?" that volition appraise your collection for 35 cents each.

You haven't listened to the bombcast I see.

Unfortunately when Beanie Babies were big, Everyone saw them as collectors items and thought man these are gonna be worth so much in the future. Every bit a event the Beanie Baby "market place" is completely over saturated and then they really haven't gained in price, and if annihilation have actually gone down since they have gone out of fashion again.
Always was my favorite.
Then I idea Tumba the Gorilla was my favorite, until.......
I plant that!
$775 One thousand thousand Dollars.

Exactly. This is the aforementioned thing that happened with comic books in the early nineties… among countless other examples.
If he has a rare one information technology might still be worth a fair amount. Unless at that place is a collector on here though you would exist amend looking for a specific forum for them - I am sure one exists on the net.
This ain't Pawn Stars son.
My older sister had tons and institute it hard getting rid of them. She had a agglomeration of rare ones and they were worth almost nix.
The chimera has popped, yous tin probably part it out and get, if you're lucky, a dollar per beanie if some parent is ownership it for their kid.
@SlickWillyJJ: I'd say about a buck each so $3000 and become those balls evaluated to come across how much their worth your besides lucky it's a world series team and not a team that didn't do anything, cause if it'southward a team signed ball with no importance that could make it worth less than just a mickey mantle signed brawl. When i say a dollar each I hateful at similar a swap meet or something might exist able to become some passing kids to buy them cheap from y'all slowly over time the thing that makes them not worth much was how many people bought them thinking i solar day they would be worth money.
This. This is the Beanie Babe well-nigh worthy of your adoration and love. At that place are none equally pure and beautiful as Wiggly the Squid.
... Well, I similar him, anyway. He makes a nice companion for the irised jellyfish and its babies. Some of the really ancient Beanies might be worth 'something' but market saturation totaled their basic value. I can't believe they're still making these things... just hell, I got a fun realistic looking toad terminal yr, so I'm not complaining.
Maybe a couple hundred
I would go look up the rarest, most expensive beanie babies, and see if y'all have them.
Not plenty time has passed to make about of them worth much yet. You could sell them in a majority collection, just those things nearly always sell for less than they're worth.
Alternatively, y'all can get it appraised past someone. Probably worth taking the time to catalogue all the ones y'all have equally well.
three,000 beanie babies? That's a hundred dollar bill right there.

@Imsorrymsjackson
$775 Million Dollars.
I see what you did there.
They'll never be worth as much as you lot hope. Mayhap if you take an ultra-rare 1, otherwise the market place was flooded and collectors capitalized.
i would agree onto them until some fourth dimension in the future. sometime they will be worth something when beanie babies get pop once again. old they will go popular once more in retro.
this got me thinking that thank god i never got into collecting things fad, beanie babies, pokemon cards.
I bought this Duck off my buddy back when these were the hot detail. Maybe I gave him $v-ten? Looks like I tin one for the same price on Amazon.
OG Jake
Six bazillion dollars.

I would say about $1 each, unless 1 is rare I suppose... which would probably be around $2.
...why does your father have 3000 beanie babies?

At least he doesn't collect barbie dolls.
Worth virtually three,000 Beanie Babies.
Transport them to Kony and maybe he'll finish killing kids
you can tear them apart and fill a kiddy pool with the beanie beads inside. then swim in a pool of beanie baby guts.
Just wait until interest in them rises again. It'll happen, fads always run in a circumvolve.
The trouble with most is that there are a lot more supplied than at that place is need for them like many other things in life. Every mall and flea market place had a dozen vendors selling those things during their high point so even the moderately rare ones are going to have to have a major resurgence to exist worth much. If a bunch of people give them to their kids or throw them away then they may and I emphasize may be worth something in the future. Things that are hugely popular when they are for sale rarely become true collectors items and that is the aforementioned with games which is why Mario Games aren't worth that much and rare niche titles get valuable over time. All the same if there is a major turnaround in the marketplace and if he has rare ones(which I am bold he volition with 3000) and so they will probably exist worth quite a fleck merely I wouldn't count on the other 2500 being worth more $one-2 even if there is a resurgence. Only I personally don't recollect in that location will be a resurgance because every bit shortly equally one began the market place would probably be flooded by the people trying to unload the older ones almost immediately flooding and killing he resurgance.
I imagine a overnice clamper of change.
Beanie Babies are shut to worthless. They were mass produced for the most office and only some of the originals may be worth something.
I accept "Basics" the Squirrel in my bookshelf, just because I am a fan of Squirrels and had well-nigh 60 of em them every bit a kid. My sis and I have them all bagged up for the virtually part, she has a few out still in her room. I just took that i with me when I moved.
Laser Discs, similar situation for the most office no one wants a dead format unless they are a collector. There is no way to price these things, it comes down to what you value information technology at and they value it at.
The Brawl unless information technology gets a COA, is not that valuable, your father's word is not proof that it is real.
I've got a couple nickels and a few bottlecaps that I can offer up for them.
In the time to come, when nuclear fallout decimates nearly of the Us and Beanie Babies are used as currency, they will be worth a lot. Trust me.
